Established in August 2022, Taiwan’s Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) leads the nation’s digital transformation. MODA works to build resilient digital infrastructure, advance trustworthy and sovereign AI, promote open data and digital inclusion, and strengthen Taiwan’s role in the global digital economy.

The Stanford Taiwan Center for Science, Technology and Innovation, based at Stanford University's School of Engineering, connects Stanford's research and innovation ecosystem with Taiwan's strengths in technology, advanced manufacturing, and talent. The Center advances two core missions: Science, Technology & Innovation and Talent Development & Exchange, fostering research collaboration, technological innovation, talent development, and academic exchange. New Manufacturing is a strategic focus within the Center's Science, Technology & Innovation mission.

We are early stage deep tech investors leading rounds with checks in the range of $5-15M for (pre) Seed - Series A startups building in compute, infrastructure, and engineered biology. The companies we invest in are ones that we help build to consequential billion-dollar outcomes. We underwrite technical risk that defines and shapes industries such as PsiQuantum (invested when they were 3 people, still largest shareholder), Ayar Labs (Series A lead), Agility Robotics (Series A lead), and many others. We closed our $475M Fund IV in Q1 and have an incredible bench of in-house operating partners and a robust LP network to help build and scale alongside the founders we back.

Founded in 2012, Berkeley SkyDeck is UC Berkeley’s premier startup accelerator. It is a partnership of the Haas School of Business, the College of Engineering, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. SkyDeck hosts more than 250 startups a year across its Accelerator, Innovation Partner, and Pad-13 incubator programs. Accelerator startups receive a $200K investment from the Berkeley SkyDeck Fund. Its companies have raised more than $2.7 billion, supported by about 900 advisors and the 500,000-strong Berkeley alumni network.
