Lead with An Entrepreneurial Mindset

Startup Island Taiwan - Silicon Valley

Theme: Lead with an Entrepreneurial Mindset

Stop waiting for opportunities. Start creating them.

Featuring speakers who pivot or take detours along their life journey:

• Grow a luxury dining restaurant into a group of high-end restaurants and bakeries
• Engineer to startup consultant
• Career in high tech to career coach
• Stay at home mom to indigo dye artist
• Flight attendant to baker to financial consultant

This summit is NOT about starting a business. It’s about:

• Creating opportunities instead of waiting for them
• Taking radical ownership of your decisions
• Leading your life with a founder’s mindset

Most career advice teaches you how to choose the right path.

We’re here to explore how to create your own.

The road ahead isn’t paved for you — you’re the one paving it.

主題|Lead with an Entrepreneurial Mindset 以創業家心態領航人生

有人在灣區把一間餐廳,變成高端餐飲品牌版圖;
有人從工程師,變成創業顧問;
有人在科技業 13 年,最後成為職涯教練;
有人移民後,一邊帶孩子一邊在市集賣藍染手作;

Create opportunities
Own your decisions
Lead with a founder’s mindset

Featured Speakers:

Chanile Chang is the President and CEO of Alexander’s Restaurant Group, known for her outstanding team leadership and management expertise. In 2005, the group opened its first Alexander’s Steakhouse in Silicon Valley, quickly establishing a strong presence in the high-end dining market. Under her leadership, the company expanded from a single restaurant into a diversified portfolio of upscale steakhouses, seafood restaurants, and French pastry boutiques across California. In 2023, Chanile led Team USA to win the world championship at the Bocuse d’Or in Lyon, France, highlighting her commitment to excellence, innovation, and building world-class teams.

Nina Chen is a Taiwanese indigo dye artist and the founder of Dream Fields Indigo, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received training in traditional natural dyeing techniques in Taiwan and has participated in markets around the world, sharing the art and cultural heritage of indigo through direct, personal connections. After immigrating to the United States, Nina rebuilt her career from the ground up, selling her work at local markets across the Bay Area while raising a young child, gradually transforming her craft into a business. She is dedicated to preserving and sharing indigo culture through contemporary design, handmade textiles, and community workshops. Through her journey, she hopes to encourage immigrant women to embrace new beginnings with courage and confidence. She believes starting over is not a weakness, but the moment we discover our true strength.

Snow Ho’s career is a study in "The Architecture of Choice." Her journey spans from the high-pressure cabins of Emirates to a decade-long, award-winning tenure as an artisanal cake entrepreneur. After conquering the culinary world and winning television championships, she reached a pivotal realization: while she had mastered the craft, she wanted to engineer a more robust structure for the next stage of her life. Instead of waiting for opportunities, Snow actively created them—trading flour for finance and enrolling in Harvard Business School to re-wire her professional foundation. Currently a financial professional at New York Life pursuing EA and ChFC designations, she brings a "maker’s" precision to tax and wealth strategies for high-net-worth families. Snow’s story reflects a profound commitment to leading with an entrepreneurial mindset—proving that we don’t find our paths; we build them through action, one courageous "dive" at a time.

Yi-Ning Huang is the founder of Honu Lab with over a decade of experience in Silicon Valley as a software engineer, technical leader, and CTO consultant. After years of helping startups ship products and scale their technical foundations, she's now turning her focus to education — teaching professionals how to turn their expertise into an independent consulting practice through her program. She shares her journey on @yi.startup.dev.

Nina Tseng is the Founder and Leadership Coach at Wayfinding with Nina, where she supports Asian women and immigrants to build a life and career they are proud of. Before becoming a solopreneur, she pivoted careers three times and most recently spent 13 years as a marketing analytics leader in fintech and e-commerce companies. She is passionate about women empowerment, mental health, and helping people reclaim agency in their lives.
